Jal Diwali Campaign launched

- Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) launched the ‘Jal Diwali – Water for Women, Women for Water’ awareness campaign.
- The campaign is launched under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT)
- AMRUT is a flagship scheme of MoHUA, in partnership with National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM).
- Odisha Urban Academy is the knowledge partner of this campaign
- Objective of the campaign – To empower women in water governance.
Vasippu Iyakkam (Reading Movement)
- A set of 53 books were introduced under the Vasippu Iyakkam (Reading Movement) by the Tamil Nadu State Education Department.
About Vasippu Iyakkam (Reading Movement)
- Launch – July 2023 in 11 districts
- Objective – To make reading more friendly and accessible for students of government schools
- The books are divided into four stages and the reading levels are increased as students’ progress into the last stage.
- The books are given to children during the library period by volunteers of the Illam Thedi Kalvi project
