Agnipath scheme
▪ As the Agnipath scheme completes two years since its implementation the Department of Military Affairs (DMA) has sought feedback from the Tri-services on the scheme.
▪ Department of Military Affairs (DMA) is headed by the Chief of Defence Staff.
About About Agnipath Scheme
▪ Launch – 14 June 2022
▪ Objective – To recruit soldiers in Armed forces across the Three services (Army, Navy and Airforce) for a period of four years.
▪ Age criteria – Between 17.5 years and 23 years.
Youngest Indian to scale Everest
▪ Kaamya Karthikeyan became the India’s youngest and world’s second youngest girl to scale Mount Everest from the Nepal side.
▪ She aims to climb Mt. Vinson Massif in Antarctica in December 2024 to accomplish the ‘7summits challenge’.
