Ban on seven Meitei extremist organisations
A tribunal under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) has upheld the Centre’s decision to declare seven Meitei extremist organisations as “unlawful associations” for the next five years.

It was passed in 1967.
Aim – To prevent unlawful activities of associations in India.
UAPA Tribunal is headed by a retired or sitting judge of a High Court.
