ICC Awards 2024
▪ Based on ICC votes, players who performed exceptionally well in all three formats (Test, ODI, T20) last year have been selected.
▪ Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been named ICC Test Cricketer of the Year 2024.
▪ Indian batter Smriti Mandhana has been selected as the best player in One Day Cricket. In T20 cricket
▪ Indian bowler Arshdeep Singh has secured the top position.
▪ ICC has also selected an international team based on outstanding contributions in T20 cricket. India’s Rohit Sharma has been chosen as the captain of this team.

New Commander Takes Charge of Tambaram Air Force Station
▪ Air Commodore Tapan Sharma has taken charge as the new commander of the Indian Air Force’s Tambaram Air Station.
▪ He joined the Indian Air Force in 1997 as a fighter pilot and has logged over 2,500 hours flying various types of aircraft with specialized training.
▪ He is an ‘A’ grade qualified flying instructor and has served in various important positions for 25 years.
Republic Day Parade Float Prizes
▪ At the Republic Day celebrations held in Chennai, the Department of Youth Welfare and Sports Development won first place among the parade floats.
▪ The Police and Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments departments secured second and third places respectively
