HADR Exercise – Tiger Triumph
▪ Tiger Triumph – a tri-service (Army, Navy, Air Force) Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exercise between India and the U.S.
▪ Schedule: April 1 to 13, 2025.
▪ Objective:
✓ Improve interoperability for HADR operations.
✓ Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for a Combined Coordination Centre (CCC) to ensure effective cooperation between Indian and U.S. Joint Task Forces (JTF) in crises.
▪ Location: Visakhapatnam
Training for 44 Foreign Officers Under the “SAGAR” Project
▪ Under the Indian Navy’s “SAGAR” project, personnel from 9 countries are being trained at naval training schools in Kochi, Kerala. The countries include Comoros, Kenya, Madagascar, Maldives, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, and Tanzania.
▪ The Indian Ocean Ship (IOS) SAGAR project ensures cooperation among countries in the Indian Ocean region. Under this project, the coastal patrol vessel INS Sunayna has been renamed IOS SAGAR, with both Indian naval personnel and foreign personnel stationed on it.
▪ India has announced its new “MAHASAGAR” vision (Comprehensive Advancement for InterRegional Security and Development) for the southern world.
▪ The “Africa-India Key Maritime Cooperation Exercise” will be held in April to enhance multilateral maritime cooperation with African countries.
▪ This exercise is being jointly conducted by India and Tanzania and will take place in the coastal area of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
