Dr. M.S. Swaminathan International Award for Food and Peace
▪ A new international award in Dr. Swaminathan’s name for Food and Peace will be launched to honour scientists from developing nations (Global South).
▪ The award will be jointly instituted by the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation and the World Academy of Sciences.
▪ It carries a cash prize of USD 25,000 (approx. ₹20.75 lakh).
▪ Indian Prime Minister will present the first award during the M.S. Swaminathan’s centenary event.
