Nihonium
▪ Nihonium is the first element to be discovered in Asia.
▪ It was created at the RIKEN research institute in Japan, and the name derives from “Nihon”, the Japanese word for Japan.
▪ Due to its short half-life and radioactivity, it is used only for research purposes.
▪ It has an atomic number of 113 and an atomic mass of 286 AMU.
