NATURAL DISASTERS – SAFEGUARD MEASURES
- The Prime Minister on March 03 inaugurated the third session of the National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (NPDRR) in New Delhi.
- Gujarat was the first state that came out with the State Disaster Management Act in 2001.
- The then central government enacted the Disaster Management Act on the basis of this act. After that, the National Disaster Management Authority came into existence.
ABOUT NPDRR:
- NPDRR is a Multi- Stakeholder platform con-stituted by the Government of India to facilitate dialogue, sharing experiences, views, ideas, action-oriented research & explore opportunities in the area of Disaster Risk Reduction.
