Tamil Nadu Endangered Species
▪ Tamil Nadu Endangered Species Conservation Fund:₹50 crore is being established by the state government to protect endangered and critically endangered species.
▪ Key objectives include surveying, assessing, and mapping threatened species, enhancing conservation inside and outside protected areas, and establishing long-term protection partnerships.
▪ The fund is managed by the State Forest Development Agency and overseen initially by the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve Foundation, with funds held in Tamil Nadu Power Finance Corporation or Tamil Nadu Transport Development Finance Corporation.
