Northeast Monsoon
The monsoon occurs in the tropical region, roughly between 20° North and 20° South latitudes.
India’s climate is described as a monsoon type.
In Asia, this type of climate is mainly found in the south and southeast.
Rainfall in India:
Southwest Monsoon: About 75% of India’s annual rainfall is received from the southwest monsoon between June and September.
Northeast Monsoon: This occurs from October to December.
Northeast Monsoon:
Also called the winter monsoon, it is limited in extent and occurs mainly in the southern peninsular region.
It is referred to as the winter rainfall.
