‘Pralay’ missile successfully tested
- India successfully test-fired its surface-to-surface short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) ‘Pralay’ from the Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast.
- It has been developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
- It is a 350-500 km short-range, surface-to-surface missile with a payload capacity of 500-1,000 kg
- It has been developed for deployment along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and Line of Control (LoC)
Awards and Honours
Rohini Nayyar Prize 2023
- Deenanath Rajput was awarded the Rohini Nayyar Prize for Outstanding Contribution to Rural Development.
- He was awarded for his efforts in changing the lives of over 6,000 tribal women in Chhattishgarh by establishing a farmers producers organisation (FPO)
- First recipient – Sethrichem Sangtam (2022)
