Exercise Bold Kurukshetra
- Recently, the Singapore Army and Indian Army participated in Exercise Bold Kurukshetra which was held at Jodhpur Military Station, India.
- It was the 13th edition of Exercise Bold Kurukshetra, a bilateral military exercise between India and the Singapore army.
- For the first time in the exercise series, both armies participated in a command post Exercise, which involved Battalion and Brigade level planning elements and computer wargaming.
- It involved an understanding of mechanised warfare in emerging threats and evolving technologies, developing inter-operability through a computer simulation-based Wargame using joint operational and tactical procedures controlled through a joint command post.
- First conducted in 2005, this exercise underscores the strong and long-standing bilateral defence relationship between both countries and enhances cooperation between the two armies.

SPORTS AND GAMES
- India’s Youth Affairs and Sports Minister, Anurag Singh Thakur, inaugurated the 13th IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in New Delhi.
- India has fielded a strong contingent for the tournament, with Nikhat Zareen, Lovlina Borgohain, Saweety Boora, and Preeti all set to participate in the event.
- Tournament’s brand ambassador – MC Mary Kom, and Bollywood star Farhan Akhtar.

Saraswati samman award

- Writer Sivasankari wins the ‘Saraswati Samman’ award for the year 2022.
- The award is given to her for 2019 memoir Surya Vamsam.
- About saraswati samman:
- Since 1991, the K.K. Birla Foundation has been awarding the Saraswati Samman.
- The awardee receives a cash prize of Rs. 15 lakhs .
- The award is given annually to a book selected from 22 languages of India – the best prose or poetic literary work.
- Indira Parthasarathy and A.A. Manavalan have already received this award in Tamil.
