Telangana Foundation Day 2024
▪ The day is observed on June 2 to commemorate the formation of the Telangana state on June 2, 2014.
▪ Telangana was carved out of Andhra Pradesh with Hyderabad as its capital as India’s 29th state.
Note
▪ ‘Jaya Jaya he Telangana’ was announced as the State Song of Telangana on June 2, 2024.
▪ The song was written by poet Ande Sri and the music was composed by M M Keeravani.
Appointments
Gender Sensitisation and Internal Complaints Committee
▪ Justice Hima Kohli has been recently appointed as the Chairperson of the Supreme Court’s Gender Sensitisation and Internal Complaints Committee.
▪ The committee is formed under the Gender Sensitisation & Sexual Harassment of Women at the Supreme Court of India (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Regulations, 2013.
▪ The committee should have not less than seven members and not more than 13 members.

▪ Justice B.V. Nagarathna who set to become the First woman Chief Justice of India is also a member of the Committee.
