- World Earth Day is observed on 22 April 2023
- The day aims to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote conservation efforts to protect our planet.
- The first-ever Earth Day was observed on April 22, 1970
- April 16 to 22 is named as “Earth Week,” dedicated to educating people about climate change this planet experiences and steps against it and being a part of the green revolution.
- The theme for Earth Day 2023 – “Invest in Our Planet”

- Inaugural session of the Global Buddhist Summit held in New Delhi
- The two day Summit is being hosted by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with International Buddhist Confederation (IBC).

Wing Commander Deepika Mishra becomes 1st woman IAF Officer to get Gallantry Award
- Wing Commander Deepika Mishra became the first woman officer in the Indian Air Force to be presented a gallantry award.
- Deepika Mishra, a helicopter pilot, was conferred a Vayu Sena Medal (Gallantry) for an act of “exceptional courage” displayed during a flood relief operation in Madhya Pradesh.
- She is from Rajasthan.
