Birsa Munda
- Birsa Munda, a freedom fighter, was born on November 15, 1875, in the village of Ulihattu in the present-day state of Jharkhand.
- The Chotanagpur Plateau is home to the tribal people, Birsa Munda was born into a Munda family,
- The Mundas, an adivasi tribe, experienced high rent pressures, forced labor, and other forms of exploitation that disrupted traditional practices.
- This was the social background in which Birsa Munda found a place for himself as a leader.
- Ulkulan Movement-His leadership in the historical uprisings of freedom fighters reached its peak through the Ulkulan Movement, a major uprising led by the tribals against British colonialism and feudal domination.
- Santhal Rebellion (1855-1856)-Sandal Rebellion, also known as Santhal Hool
- It was one of the earliest and largest tribal rebellions against the British.
- Kol Rebellion (1831-1832)-This is popularly known as Kol Rebellion. The Kol community, especially those living in the Chotanagpur region of present-day Jharkhand, rebelled against the colonial rule of the British East India Company and local landlords.
- Rambha Rebellion (1879-1880) The Rambha Rebellion, also known as Rambha Rebellion, was a tribal uprising led by Alluri Sitarama Raju, a tribal leader in present-day Andhra Pradesh.
