Right to Information Act
- The Right to Information Act, enacted by the Parliament of India, came into force on 12 October 2005.
- Objective: To empower citizens, promote transparency and accountability in the functioning of government, curb corruption and make our democracy truly work for the people.
State Information Commission
- The State Information Commission shall consist of

- Other Information Commissioners (not exceeding 10 Commissioners) as may be required.
- The Chief Information Commissioner of the State and other Commissioners shall be appointed by the Governor on the recommendation of a Selection Committee. The Selection Committee shall consist of
- The Chief Minister (Chairman of the Selection Committee)
- The Leader of the Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly
- A Cabinet Minister nominated by the Chief Minister.
