UK govt approves 3,000 visas for Indians per year under new scheme
- The UK government led by Rishi Sunak has approved 3,000 visas for young Indian professionals to work in the country every year.
- Under the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme, the UK will offer 3,000 places to Indian Nationals with degrees aged between 18-30 to come to the UK to live and work for two years.
- According to the UK Home Office data, around 118,000 Indian students received a UK student visa in the year ending June 2022, an 89 per cent rise from the previous year, Besides this, the British government said it is also strengthening the ability to remove immigration offenders.

Over 12.5 lakh to be enrolled in Naan Mudhalvan portal
- The Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation Managing Director, J. Innocent Divya, called on the corporates to partner with the Naan Mudhalvan project to help students passing out of various institutions to acquire new skills and find jobs.
About Naan Mudhalvan Scheme
- Launched on March 1, 2022.
- The scheme was launched as a skill development program for the students of Government Schools and Colleges.
- TN Government also launched the ‘Kalloori Kanavu’ programme under the ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ initiative which aims to guide and counsel students who have completed Class XII.
- Naan Mudhalvan portal was launched by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on August 29, 2022 which is aimed to get over 12.5 lakh students registered on the portal by the end of the year.
