America’s tallest Ambedkar statue to be unveiled on October 14
- The tallest 19 feet statue of Ambedkar outside India will be unveiled on October 14 in Maryland, USA.
- A 19-foot full-length statue of Ambedkar named ‘Statue of Equality’ has been installed in Ambedkar International Center (AIC) which is being built in an area of 13 acres in Accokeek, Maryland, USA to honor the memory of Ambedkar who was the head of the Constitution Drafting Committee in the Constituent Assembly.
- The statue will be unveiled on October 14, the day Ambedkar converted to Buddhism.
- This statue is designed by famous sculptor Ram Sudhar. It is noteworthy that he designed the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the ‘Statue of Unity’, installed on the banks of the Narmada River in Gujarat.
