5th anniversary of the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership
▪ Agreements signed during the meeting in Canberra, Australia, marking the 5th anniversary of
the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
▪ Both sides have reaffirmed to work together in maritime security, defense industry and science and technology.
Defense Agreement Signed between India-Britain
▪ A defense sector agreement worth Rs. 7,122 crores has been entered into between India and
Britain.
▪ This agreement was finalized in negotiations held in Mumbai.
▪ This includes an agreement for procurement of Light Multi-Purpose Application Missiles
(LMM) to further strengthen air defense capability, and an agreement for procurement of
electric propulsion engines for naval vessels.
▪ Military Training Agreement: A separate agreement regarding military training was signed
between the two countries.
