NMC to launch ‘one nation, one registration platform’ for unified info on doctors

- The National Medical Commission (NMC) is all set to launch “one nation, one registration platform”
- The platform aims to eliminate duplication and red tape and allow the public to access information on any physician working in India.
- The National Medical Register (NMR) will also be launched under which doctors will be allotted a unique identification number.

- NMC is the regulatory body for medical education and medical professionals.
- It replaced the Medical Council of India on 25 September 2020.
