New criminal laws
▪ Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal stated that the New Criminal Laws will come into force on July 1.
▪ The New Criminal Laws are as follows
✓ Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita – Indian Penal Code, 1860
✓ Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita – Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898
✓ Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam – Indian Evidence Act, 1872
▪ These laws aim to overhaul the criminal justice system.
