- Singaravelar from Tamil Nadu took part in the conference.It was from there that the Communist Party of India was established formally with Bombay as its headquarters.
NATGRID Linked to NPR
- NATGRID is a secure platform that allows police and investigating agencies to access multiple government and private databases in real time.
- The NPR is the first step for the creation of a countrywide National Register of Citizens (NRC).
- Aim: To improve intelligence gathering and speed up criminal investigations using secure, indigenous systems.
- Upgraded NADGRID tools support multi source data collection and analysis. One such tools is ‘Gandiva’ used for facial recognition and entity resolution.
Tuberculosis in India
- Context: Indian Council for Medical Research-National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis and Women’s Collective Forum has urged sweeping changes in medical education and hospital practices.
- India still accounts for about 27% of global TB cases.
About Tuberculosis
- Tuberculosis (TB) is a bacterial infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
- It spreads through airborne transmission, mainly inhaling tiny droplets released from the coughs or sneezes of an infected person.
- Tuberculosis incidence in India has dropped to below 200 per lakh (2022) from 237 per lakh (2015), marking a 16% decline.
- TB-related deaths have decreased by 18% since 2015, now at 23 per lakh population.
- The National TB Elimination Program (NTEP) to emphasize the aim of the Government of India to eliminate TB in India by 2025, five years ahead of the global targets of 2030.

- Tamil Nadu has significantly reduced TB-related deaths by implementing the TN-KET (Kasanoi Erappila Thittam) using a simple triage tool and a differentiated care model.
- Tamil Nadu has become the first Indian state to integrate a predictive model for tuberculosis (TB) deaths into its TB elimination programme.
