Chandrayaan 3 likely to be launched in mid-2023: ISRO
- Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman S. Somnath , said the launch of Chandrayaan-3, India’s third lunar mission, and the first solar mission Aditya LI will possibly happen by the middle of 2023.
- He was delivering the inaugural talk on “Indian Capabilities for Space and Planetary Exploration” at the 4th Indian Planetary Science Conference organised at Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) in Ahmedabad.
- He said Aditya-LI, India’s first solar mission, is going to be “a very unique solar observation capability for which instruments have already been delivered, and ISRO is in the process of integrating them in the satellite.
- According to ISRO, Chandrayaan-3 is a follow-on mission to Chandrayaan-2 to demonstrate end-to-end capability in safe landing and roving on the lunar surface.
‘DigiClaim’
- Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has launched ‘DigiClaim’ facility to get crop insurance compensation through the National Crop Insurance Board website so that farmers can get crop insurance compensation quickly.
- Prime Minister’s Fasal Bima Yojana is a crop protection scheme in operation. Farmers can apply for compensation in case of damage to trees.
- After assessing the respective damages, the Central Government collects the amount from the insurance companies and provides the compensation to the affected farmers through the State Governments.
