  • The Prime Minister mentioned the 2 women MLAs elected for the first time in Nagaland, Shalija Thami, the first woman officer who has been appointed as a commander in the Air Force Combat Wing, and Shiva Chauhan, the first woman officer to serve in Siachen, and said, ‘The contribution of women power in the development of the country is very big’.

  • Organ donation has become a life-saving procedure. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the government is planning to formulate a uniform policy to promote organ donation and simplify the procedures
  • The increasing awareness about organ donation in the country now is astounding. In 2013, organ donation was less than 5,000, but by 2022, this number is expected to exceed 15,000.
  • ‘Uniform Policy’: The government is planning to formulate a uniform policy to promote organ donation and simplify the procedure.
  • It has been decided to remove the age limit of 65 years for organ donation.
