SATHI Portal

SATHI portal and new Mobile App launched by Union Government

  • Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar launched the SATHI portal and Mobile App to deal with the challenges faced by farmers related to seed production, quality seed identification, and seed certification.
  • Objective: Designed to curb the sale of spurious seeds and ensure that quality seeds reach farmers.
  • SATHI– Seed Traceability, Authentication, and Holistic Inventory.

‘PRAYAG Platform’

  • PRAYAG stands for Platform for Real time Analysis of Yamuna, Ganga and their Tributaries
  • Prayag is a real time monitoring centre for planning and monitoring of projects, river water quality, etc. through various online dashboards such as Ganga Tarang Portal, Ganga Districts Performance Monitoring System, etc.
  • Launched by: Ministry of Jal Shakti, Under the ambit of Namami Gange Programme.

About Namami Gange Programme:

  • Namami Gange Programme is an Integrated Conservation Mission, approved as a ‘Flagship Programme’ by the Union Government in June 2014 to accomplish the twin objectives of effective abatement of pollution and conservation and rejuvenation of National River Ganga.
  • It is being operated under the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti.
  • The program is being implemented by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), and its state counterpart organizations i.e State Program Management Groups (SPMGs).
  • NMCG is the implementation wing of National Ganga Council (set in 2016; which replaced the National Ganga River Basin Authority – NGRBA).

The main pillars of the programme are:

  3. River Surface Cleaning
  4. Biodiversity
  5. Afforestation
  6. Public Awareness
