‘Operation Ajay’ to evacuate Indians from Israel
- India has launched Operation Ajay to facilitate the return of citizens from Israel as the conflict between Israel and Hamas escalates.
- There are 18,000 Indians in Israel.
Note
- Operation Ajay will be the second evacuation in 2023, after Operation Kaveri that brought back several thousand Indian citizens from conflict torn Sudan in April May in 2023.
- Hamas – Sunni Islamist political and militant organization currently governing the Gaza Strip of the Palestinian territories.
