Prime Minister Key announcements in his Independence Day Address
▪ Mission Sudarshan Chakra: India will be building an air defence system by 2035 to not only shield military and civilian areas but also to strike back in a precise, targeted manner.
▪ Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana: The scheme would give a one-time grant of ₹15,000 to first-time employees in the private sector and incentives to the private sector to create employment
▪ Made-in-India semiconductors: India will launch ‘Made-in-India’ semiconductor chips by the end of 2025.
▪ Semiconductor units: 6 operational, 4 more approved.
▪ Nuclear energy capacity: India will aim at increasing its nuclear energy capacity 10-fold via its 10 nuclear energy plants by 2047.
▪ GST Reform: The Centre has proposed to reduce the number of GST slabs, specifically by eliminating the 12% and 28% tax brackets.
▪ High-Powered Demography Mission:To tackle illegal infiltration affecting population demographics, protecting youth livelihoods, and safeguarding national unity.
▪ National Deep Sea Exploration Project: To discover oil and gas resources in the ocean.
▪ Priority to Domestic Production: In defense, energy, modern technology, pharmaceuticals, and fertilizers.
▪ Reform Task Force: A dedicated Reform Task Force will be formed to drive the next generation of reforms in the country, with a view to accelerating economic growth.

Humayun’s Tomb

▪ Commissioned by: Empress Bega Begum, Humayun’s widow, in 1569–70
▪ Architect: Mirak Mirza Ghiyas, a Persian architect
▪ Style: Persian-Mughal architecture; precursor to the Taj Mahal

✓ Set in Charbagh (four-part) gardens
✓ Features red sandstone with white marble detailing
