About Viksit Bharat Guarantee Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-G RAMG)

  • VB-G RAMG is a rural wage employment scheme notified by the Tamil Nadu Government.
  • Total project cost: ₹12,642 crore.

Funding Pattern

  • Union Government: 60% (₹7,585 crore)
  • Tamil Nadu Government: 40% (₹5,057 crore)

Objective

  • To provide 125 days of guaranteed wage employment per financial year.
  • Employment is for adult members of rural households willing to do unskilled manual work.
  • Aims to improve livelihood security and create durable rural assets.

Implementation

  • Rural Employment Guarantee Council 
  • Chaired by the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj.
  • Advises the government on scheme implementation.
  • Steering Committee 
    • Headed by the Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj.
  • Monitors and coordinates implementation.

  • Scheduled Castes (SCs)
  • Scheduled Tribes (STs)

Key Features

  • Priority will be given to works that create individual assets on the land or house premises of beneficiaries.
  • Based on district requirements, there is flexibility to relax the 60-day limit on works during peak agricultural seasons.

 

She-LEAPS (Self-Help Entrepreneurship – A business application for livelihood, prosperity, and sustainability)

  • Background: Launched on June 29, 2026, at the Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Sammelan in New Delhi. It supports the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative by digitally empowering women entrepreneurs.

About She-LEAPS

  • A digital platform for women associated with Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
    • Promotes livelihood generation, business growth, and financial inclusion.
    • Supports both farm and non-farm rural enterprises.
    • Helps build a sustainable rural economy
  • Developed by: Developed by Digital India Corporation.
  • Implemented via the LokOS platform.
  • LokOS digitizes SHG registrations, financial transactions, livelihood activities, and community organization data.

  • Empowering rural women entrepreneurs.
  • Promoting women-led enterprises.
  • Connecting rural producers with formal markets.
  • Enhancing financial inclusion.
  • Enabling data-driven rural entrepreneurship.

  • Implemented across 34 states and Union Territories.
  • Supports State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs).
  • Provides real-time enterprise data for better monitoring and planning.

  • Monitors business performance in real-time.

Participation in the Lakhpati Didi Scheme

    • Monitors income growth and organizational progress.
    • Supports the expanded target of 6 crore Lakhpati Didis (increased from 3 crore).
  • Facilitates the implementation of the government’s plan to provide ₹10 lakh crore over the next five years.

India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 2.0 

  • Context:The Union Budget 2026–27 announced India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 2.0 to strengthen India’s semiconductor ecosystem. 
  • Recently, the Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) cleared a proposal of about ₹1.25 lakh crore for ISM 2.0. The proposal is awaiting Cabinet approval. 

About  ISM 2.0

  • A government initiative to make India a global semiconductor hub by promoting:
    • Semiconductor manufacturing (fabs)
    • Chip packaging (ATMP/OSAT)
    • Semiconductor equipment and materials
    • Indigenous chip design (Indian IP)
    • Secure and resilient supply chains 

Key Objectives

  • Reduce dependence on imported chips.
  • Promote Atmanirbhar Bharat in electronics.
  • Support AI, telecom, defence, automobiles, and electronics industries.
  • Create high-skilled jobs and attract global investment.
