Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY)
▪ The Ujjwala Yojana is a major social welfare scheme launched by the Government of India.
▪ The scheme was inaugurated on May 1, 2016.
▪ It is implemented by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas
▪ Its objective is to replace unhealthy cooking fuels such as firewood, coal, and kerosene with clean LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) connections, thereby improving women’s health and saving their time.
Lakhpati Didi Scheme
▪ This scheme was launched in 2023.
▪ The initiative aims not only to enhance women’s income but also to empower them by transforming their lives through sustainable livelihood practices.
▪ Through this scheme, women become role models in their communities, demonstrating the power of effective resource management and entrepreneurship.
▪ The scheme is implemented under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM).
