▪ The Fourth Session of India-Ghana Joint Trade Committee was held in Accra, Ghana recently.
▪ Both countries agreed to operationalise United Payments Interface (UPI) in Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems in six months.
▪ Digital economy, textiles, renewable energy and healthcare sectors were identified as focus areas.

Uncontested Election
▪ BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal was elected unopposed from Surat Lok Sabha constituency recently.
▪ The Section 53 of The Representation of the People Act, 1951 states that if the number of contesting candidates is equal to the number of seats to be filled, then the Returning Officer will declare all such candidates to be duly elected to fill those seats.
▪ Five candidates won the general elections uncontested in 1951-52
▪ Seven candidates won the general election unopposed in 1957.
▪ Dimple Yadav was the most recent MP to be elected unopposed before Dalal in 2012.
