New India Literacy Project
- The Ministry of Education has approved a new scheme called “New India Literacy Scheme” for the financial year 2022-2027.
- The plan aims to align adult education to include all aspects of the National Education Policy 2020 and announcements in the 2021-22 Budget.
- The scheme will benefit illiterate persons aged 15 years and above in all states/UTs of the country.
- The government has now replaced the phrase “Adult Education” in the country with a phrase “Education for All”.
