Government Launches Portal for International Students
- Central government launched the Study in India (SII Portal) Website.
- The website will provide an integrated one-stop solution for the student registration and visa application process.
Problems in Conduct of Public Elections
Common electoral
- Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said the Law Commission in its 255th report had endorsed introduction of common electoral rolls for parliamentary, assembly and local body elections.
- The government proposes to have ‘one nation one voter list’ as suggested by the Law Commission.
- The proposal is under examination of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice.
- Electoral reforms are continuous and ongoing process in order to improve the existing electoral practices in the country.

- The Election Commission of India (ECI) is a constitutional body.
- Article 324 – Power of superintendence, direction and control of elections to
parliament, state legislatures, the office of the president of India and the office of vice-president of India.
