ISRO’s GSLV rocket places navigation satellite
- The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on May 29, 2023 successfully placed the NVS-01 navigation satellite, into Geo-synchronous Transfer Orbit.
- The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV), which placed the satellite, lifted off from the second launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR, Sriharikota.
- The NVS-01 carried navigation payloads L1, L5 and S bands.
- For the first time, an indigenous atomic clock was flown in NVS-01.
