108th Indian Science Congress The 108th session of Indian Science Congress (ISC) has been launched in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the Indian Science Congress 2023. The event is being hosted by the Nagpur University at its Amravati Road Campus. The focal theme of ISC 2022 is “Science and Technology for Sustainable Development with Women Empowerment.” The key highlight of ISC is sustainable development with inclusive involvement of all sections of society including women. History The Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) owes its origin to the foresight and initiative of two British Chemists, namely, Professor J. L. Simonsen and Professor P.S. MacMahon. The first meeting of the Congress was held in January, 1914 at the premises of the Asiatic Society, Calcutta. Samvidhan Udyan (Constitution Park) at Raj Bhavan in Jaipur President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Constitution Park at Raj Bhavan. The Constitution Park was built by the Jaipur Development Authority at an estimated cost of Rs 9 crore The Park showcases the Constitution’s journey from its making to its implementation through sculptures and pictures on paneled glass, among others. Background of Indian Constitution In 1928, the All Parties Conference convened a committee in Lucknow to prepare the Constitution of India, which was known as the Nehru Report. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is widely regarded as the father of the Indian Constitution. It was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India on 26 November 1949 and became effective on 26 January 1950.

Pune to host 108th Indian Science Congress annual session in 2021
The Indian Science Congress association (ISCA) announced that Pune will host the annual session of 108th Indian Science Congress on January 3-7, 2021 at Symbiosis International University’s Lavale campus with the theme, “Science and Technology for Sustainable Development with Women Empowerment”.
