588 people under Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health insurance Scheme to undergo organ transplantation On September 5, 2008, during the tenure of former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, the Government of Tamil Nadu launched the Tamil Nadu made brain death certification mandatory in 2008 and also launched the brain death organ donation scheme. Since then, the organization has been registered as an Transplant Authority of Tamil Nadu (TATN). Tamil Nadu is the capital of India in organ transplantation. Tamil Nadu has received the Central Government's award for the best state in organ donation six times in a row. August 13- World organ donation day. 'Vidiyal App' For the first time in India, organ donation registration system is currently being implemented through a fully automated app called Vidiyal. Similarly, under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme, organ transplantations are performed in government and private hospitals. As many as 588 people have received health insurance under this scheme. Each of them will get a maximum of Rs. 10,000 for treatment.
