Coin to mark Karunanidhi’s birth centenary The Union government will release a commemorative coin to mark the birth centenary of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi during an event in Chennai on August 18. The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will release the coin in the presence of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at Kalaivanar Arangam. The Union Finance Ministry had, issued the Coinage (Issue of Commemorative Coin on the occasion of Birth Centenary of Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi) Rules, 2024. The coin would be in the denomination of ₹100.
