Natural Disasters – Safeguard Measures Disaster Management Bill: Passed in Lok Sabha ▪ The Disaster Management Amendment Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha. ▪ The bill was passed through voice vote in the Lok Sabha. ▪ The allocation for State Disaster Relief Fund has increased threefold from Rs.38,000 crore during 2004-2014 to Rs.1.24 lakh crore during 2014-2024. ▪ The National Disaster Relief Fund allocation has also been increased from Rs.28,000 crore to Rs.79,000 crore.
