Green Hydrogen Mission The Union Cabinet approved the National Green Hydrogen Mission with an initial outlay of ₹19,744 crore The Mission was aimed at making India a global hub to produce, utilise and export green hydrogen and its derivatives. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) will formulate the scheme guidelines for its implementation. Main Objectives To develop a green hydrogen capacity of at least 5 MMT (million metric tonnes) per annum. Creation of more than 6 lakh jobs in the sector. To abate nearly 50 million tonnes (MT) of annual greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 which is in line with our Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) targets.
