Govt – Welfare oriented Govt schemes, their utility HCE survey ▪ The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has released the Household Consumption Expenditure Survey (HCES) 2023-24, ▪ National Statistical Office (NSO) under MoSPI. Cobducted the survey About ▪ HCES is designed to collect information on consumption and expenditure of the households on goods and services. ▪ Provides essential data for economic planning, poverty measurement, and updating the Consumer Price Index (CPI). ▪ The Monthly Per Capita Consumption Expenditure (MPCE) compiled from HCES is the primary indicator used for most analytical purposes. Note ▪ Among the 18 major states, the urban-rural gap in average MPCE has declined in 18 states.
