India has lost its top spot & has slipped to the 3rdposition(114) for the first time since 2016 in the International Cricket Council (ICC) test rankings, Australia(116) topped the rank, followed by New Zealand(115) This is the second closest the top three teams have been since the Test rankings were launched in 2003. Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton and footballer Lionel Messi were declared joint winners of the prestigious Laureus World Sportsman of the Year Award at a glittering ceremony. The Laureus Sporting Moment Award (2000-2020) public fan vote was won by Sachin Tendulkar.

India star Smriti Mandhana rose three rungs to fourth but Jemimah Rodrigues dropped to seventh in the latest ICC women’s T20 International rankings for batters. Harmanpreet Kaur has remained static at ninth in the same list. Among the bowlers, Poonam Yadav dropped six places to fall out of the top 10 and take the 12th position.
