First woman Director General of Army Medical Services Air Marshal Sadhana Saxena Nair was appointed as the Director General of Army Medical Services. She became the first woman to hold the post. She is also the second woman officer to be promoted to the rank of Air Marshal in continuous service in the Air Force.
