Initiation of TB prevention programs International Tuberculosis Day is observed annually on March 24. On that occasion, the International Tuberculosis Conference was held in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Modi participated in it and launched TB prevention programs. He initiated programs such as TB-free village visits, short-term TB prevention program and family-centred TB treatment. Prime Minister Modi also released the India Tuberculosis Report for the current year. TARGET A target has been set to eliminate TB within the year Globally by 2030 . However, India has set a target to eradicate tuberculosis by 2025 Special Program: India implemented a unique program to eradicate tuberculosis. State level awards to Karnataka and UT'S level award went to Jammu and Kashmir and district level awards to Nilgiris, Pulwama and Anantnag.
