International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 
The 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) happened in Panaji. Toxic won the Golden Peacock Award for Best Film for exploring adolescence and economic hardship. Toxic is the debut feature film by Lithuanian filmmaker Saulė Bliuvaitė. Bogdan Muresanu won the Best Director award for his Romanian tragicomedy The New YearThat Never Came. Australian director Phillip Noyce received the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to cinema.
