According to the Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, the population of Parsis (Zoroastrians), a notified minority community under National Commission of Minorities Act 1992, increased by 233since the year 2013, when the government launched the Jiyo Parsi scheme. So far the central Government has spent Rs 14 crore in 7 years for this scheme. About Jiyo Parsi scheme: It is run by the Ministry of Minorities affairs with the aim to increase the population of the Parsi community. It has two components: Medical Assistance and Advocacy (Counselling).
