Mayiladuthurai district announced as a protected agricultural zone The Tamil Nadu Assembly adopted a Bill to make Mayiladuthurai district as a protected agricultural zone. TN Protected Agricultural Zone Development Act, 2020 will be amended to facilitate the move. The zone includes Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, and Nagapattinam, certain blocks of Cuddalore and Pudukottai districts.
