'Innuyir Kappom- Nammai Kakkum 48' The death toll in road accidents in Tamil Nadu has come down by 1.3 per cent under the 'INNUYIR KAPPOM-NAMMAI KAKKUM 48' scheme. The lives of more than 1.50 lakh people who have been involved in road accidents across Tamil Nadu in the last 15 months have been saved through the 'Innuyir kappom Nammai kakkum 48 'scheme. About the scheme: Inaugurated by Chief Minister M.K Stalin on December 18,2021 The Scheme ensures the government pays for the medical bills for all accident victims in enlisted hospitals for treatment within 48 hours of the accidents. All medical care services will be covered under the scheme. People can avail of benefits in 638 hospitals across the states. They include 235 Government hospitals and 448 private hospitals. those who are not eligible for the Chief Ministers Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme (CMCHIS) will also be covered under the scheme. The free treatment will be provided in collaboration with the department of highways and department of transport. Poompuhar Award presented to Tamil Nadu artisans. The Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Industries Development Corporation (TKVICDC) organized the Poompuhar Artisans Award for the year 2021-22 at Mamallapuram. Awards were presented to 16 types of handicrafts at the function. Tamilnadu Artisans’ day to be marked on March 5.
