STAR-3.0 New portal to enable faster registration of documents, marriages The Registration Department will implement Project STAR 3.0, an advanced version of the comprehensive online portal for document registration and marriage registration for quicker delivery of services. Significance of Simplified and Transparent Administration of Registration - STAR 3.0 Project It ensures quick, transparent and simplified registration process. It also eliminates middlemen. Through this, the documents relating to transfer of patta, will be sent to the revenue department offices once the document registration is over, thus saving time. Prohibition of Online Gambling and Regulation of Online Games Bill, 2022 Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi granted his assent to the readopted Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Online Gambling and Regulation of Online Games Bill, 2022 The Bill was first adopted in the Assembly on October 19, 2022. While reintroducing the Bill , the Chief Minister had recalled that it was drafted based on the recommendations of a committee headed by the retired Madras High Court judge, Justice Chandru and the School Education Department. Mahila samman scheme: In order to encourage women investors, mahila samman small savings scheme has been launched in post offices. About the scheme: It is a one time small savings scheme for women to commemorate celebrations of 75 years of Independence. It will be made available for a two-year period up to March 2025 and will be under the Ministry of Women and Child Development. The small saving certificate will have a fixed interest rate of 7.5% for two years. The deposit can be made in the name of a woman or a girl child. The minimum deposit amount is ₹1,000 and the maximum deposit amount has been kept at ₹2 lakh and the scheme will have a partial withdrawal facility as well.
