Renaming Kerala ▪ The Kerala Assembly, passed a resolution proposing a Constitutional amendment to change the name of the State to ‘Keralam’ ▪ The resolution called for invoking Article 3 of the Constitution to effectuate this change in theFirst Schedule. Note ▪ Article 3 of the Indian Constitution deals with the formation of new States and alteration of areas, boundaries or names of existing States.
