Scheme to improve soil health ▪ Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the Chief Minister’s Mannuyir (மண் ணுயிர்) Kaathu Mannuyir (மன்னுயிர்) Kaappom Scheme (CM MK MKS) ▪ Aim – To improve soil quality, and move towards sustainable and chemical-free agricultural practices for the well-being of society. ▪ It will be implemented with the outlay of Rs.206 crore. ▪ A sum of ₹20 crore would be allotted for preservation of soil fertility through the use of green manure. ▪ In the First phase in 2024-25, green manure seeds will be distributed to 2 lakh farmers covering around 2 lakh acres
