Tamil Teaching Program for Fiji Tamil Descendants' Children ▪ A program to teach Tamil language to children of Tamils who have been living in Fiji for several generations has been launched with central government funding. ▪ This program has been introduced at a school managed by an organization called Sangam, located in the Rakiraki area, run by people of Indian descent. The Southern Indian Sanmarga United Sangam, known as Sangam, is implementing this program in collaboration with Fiji's Education Department. ▪ Two Tamil teachers have been brought from India to teach Tamil language at a school in Rakiraki and at Sangam organization's primary school in Labasa area.
